Belinda Fuchs becomes Belinda Fuchs-Rosenblum (on the way to Belinda Rosenblum)

by Belinda Rosenblum

Everything is constantly changing and so is Fuchs!

Yes, I am changing my name. Everyone was debating it except for me. If you had the last name of Fuchs, you would have been dreaming of changing it since 4th grade too!

By July 1st, I’ll officially be Belinda Rosenblum. However, to make the transition easier for everyone, I’ll hyphenate for 3 months and go with Belinda Fuchs-Rosenblum. Wow, this is real. I’ve heard horror stories of what it takes to change your name….

Do you have any insights you’d like to share on the name transition process or an opinion on my choice? If so, please leave a comment below now!

Belinda,

I think there is no right or wrong answer on the name change, but I certainly know where you are coming from. My mother’s maiden name is Doodlesack and I am sure it wasn’t too hard for her to make the change either.

Best wishes,
Rob Fish

I don’t blame you. If Ron’s last name was Fuchs, I probably would have kept Rosenthal. Then we would have had a Rosenberg, Rosenthal and Rosenbloom. That would make a good law firm. I think my father-in-law was right on this one to change his family’s name to Fox.

Have an amazing wedding. We wish we were there.

Love you,
Ron, Debbie, Syd & Zach

However, What the Fuch’s is so darn funny. What the R? What the bloom?

That could take some time to figure out. I’m sure you will. Best wishes. Enjoy the sunshine.

Belinda –

I wish you the very best whatever name you choose to go by. (However, I do agree with your decision – I would have done the same). Sounds like you have a wonderful relationship – being able to review all the books and magazines together and making decisions along the way. I will think of you on the 21st and wish you both all the mazel you deserve.

Best of luck Belinda and thanks for some really good tips as well. As a 3 time name changer: marriage #1 -to- maiden -to- marriage #2 (and final) I recommend that you change your name legally once, but do whatever you want with your name professionally. When you change your name legally, you need to update with social security, the registry of motor vehicles, banks, investment companies, etc, etc.
So here are my tips for a successful wedding: get a good nights sleep, wear comfortable shoes (or none), take a deep breath and enjoy being surrounded by the important people around you!
Safe travels!
Sue

I did the same thing. I hyphenated my last name for four months or so, then dropped it, and just went with my husband’s last name. Congratulations on your wedding! Enjoy!!

That’s great news Belinda. I’m sure it will be a perfect wedding. God Bless.

Hi Belinda,
I loved this message and totally identified with the name change since I’ve been married twice…. and I can sincerely suggest going straight for Rosenblum and skipping the hyphen…. What the Fuchs!

How you doin??

Hi Belinda- I think your decision to hyphenate for a few months is a great idea!! It gives you and everyone else time to get adjusted!! I think you made a great choice to do it that way!!
Wishing you both the best of everything in your new life together!!

Congrats Belinda! I changed my middle name to my maiden name, and most of the time just go by my married name (it helps that my before-marriage last name was Lee). Occasionally, when I attend a conference or contact a supplier, I am sure to use all 3 of my names, to help avoid confusion. Whatever you decide is right for you will be just right!
