Happy Friday!
Whew, almost at the end of my first transition week back to work.
Yes, I am totally missing my full-time baby time, but am ramping up with a renewed energy to serve (YOU) and help you go from good to great with your money!
I thought I had the mom thing figured out with the one, but oh with 2 little ones under 2 years old, it is way different. (Yes, many told me so!)
While I’ve been loving the cuteness (just a sample from this morning at right), I’ve been learning – and living – a tougher important lesson to share with you.
MONEY TIP: If you don’t take care of you, then you become much less productive, powerful, and joyful in your own life. This then has a direct effect on your health and your ability to earn, save, and spend wisely.
Consider this, if you are not putting attention on eating well, then you quickly end up spending extra money on take out and most likely eating foods with more salt, sugar, additives, and fats than your body needs (or wants)… in larger portions.
Then that can continue the cycle of carrying more weight, clogging your arteries, and now needing to buy new clothes that fit… plus your body doesn’t feel optimal with this fast food in it. The usual result: you don’t feel as good about yourself – and then you may even shop or emotionally eat to feel better. Ugh.
As a mom, I’m learning that taking care of yourself is even more important. Thus the phrase “If momma ain’t happy, nobody’s happy” can be so true. And I’m learning that I have an extra yearning to help moms provide for themselves and their families.
So… I teamed up to give all my mom readers (and feel free to forward to your mom and other moms you know as a thank you) a special opportunity to get the high-value gifts waiting for you at the Great Moms, Great Life Giveaway! Join in here: http://bit.ly/GMGLOPT
The airlines got it right. We all need to put on our own gas mask first and then we can better help others.
ACTION STEP: Do one thing this weekend to take care of YOU. Be present and savor it. Take a bubble bath, make yourself a delicious meal, or go for a beautiful walk. (Maybe even pay some bills if that will relieve that nagging stressful feeling!) Lock in how great that feels and then allow that give back to yourself to rejuvenate you.
And for my mom’s especially, I know you put a lot of effort, energy, love and money into your loved ones and other projects. But now, this is your opportunity to just sit back and receive – BIG. Let the gifts you want flow to you. It’s our treat!
