Spend time not just money

by Belinda Rosenblum

As I held my new nephew Drew, it felt as if the whole world stopped around us.

Time stood still and my heart filled with joy.

Then in the next moment, he opened his eyes and I realized how grateful I felt, and yet how quickly the moments pass. I was in awe, kissed his head, and then he yawned, or maybe it was Drew sharing a knowing smile.

Watch the video (with a 1st time cameo appearance from Drew) for your tip now…

It inspired me to make this week’s OYM Video Tip about spending quality time, not just spending on toys or gifts, for/ with our family and friends.

After you watch the video, please share your comment below with what you are grateful for in your life and what happened when you let them know!

Happy (Financial) Independence Day!

PS> Let us know of a recent gratitude moment in your life or share one you have planned for this weekend!

If you have any trouble finding or expressing the gratitude in your situation, let us know and we’ll help you through it with a comment back.

Belinda,

Thanks for posting that nice video and adding your financial tip along with it. I totally agree that we should focus more on spending quality time with the people we love (something which gives us and them great reward in happiness) rather than on spending our money on sending gifts. The reward for both parties in that case is not as great and, of course, buying gifts is typically more expensive than a visit!

I am thankful to have my brother home from the University of Maine right now. I’m looking forward to spending a lot of time with him doing fun things and also editing a wedding video we produced together.

Take care and travel safely.

We are grateful for our new cousin, Drew. Thanks for the video so we could see him, he is absolutely adorable. We hope to meet him soon.

We are also grateful that our kids are at sleep-away camp and Ron and I are having a blast. And the kids are having a blast. Now sleep-away camp may not be the wisest use of one’s money, but it sure is recharging our batteries.

Your nephew Drew is beautiful, I agree with you 100% about spending quality time with our family. I love spending time with my grand kids, Noah is one and Sean is three. I look forward to every Friday when I leave work early to pick up Sean and spend the whole day with him. soon I hope to do the same with his younger brother Noah. I know how important and how special to take few hours of our busy life to do the things we enjoy the most and for me is spending time with my grand children. Happy 4th of July and stay safe.

Hi Belinda! Your nephew is adorable! I’m thankful for all of the love I have and experience in my life, and also for having the courage to launch a venture of my own and realize that my ideas are valuable.

Drew is precious, and I must add that I got just as much joy seeing seeing him as I did watching you bursting with love and pride. At the risk of sounding like a familiar commercial…quality family time is priceless, can’t beat that for an excellent investment. I’m grateful for the what yoga is doing to bring me more present moment gifts.

Expect the best,
Marjorie

Belinda,
Great video tip – your nephew is a handsome boy. I have been missing my family a lot since they are scattered around the US. My nieces and nephews are growing up fast and I’m lucky to see them once a year. I’m inspired to visit them in person more often and actually put trips on the calendar and make them happen.

Thank you,

Debbie

Belinda,
Great video… It has taken me a while to look it over, I have been busy and have not spent much time looking at my personal email. After viewing this, I could not help but remember the birth of my son Ben (some 23 years ago). Time passes so quickly. I thank God every day that I am a father… Not that it has been an easy ride but because it is so awesome to be a whiteness to all the changes. From his first words to his first beer… I have seen it all.
