Quick question. You ever sit down to figure out your biz finances and discover that you don’t actually know where all that revenue you’ve been killing yourself for went, and more importantly, if what is left over in your bank account is even enough to live the life you want?
Let me tell you that NOTHING chips away at the ol’ entrepreneurial self-esteem like assuming you’re a perfectly competent business owner who can rake in $107k only to discover that you actually paid yourself less than minimum wage this year. (Like $8.33 an hour #true story)
There’s the “feast or famine” problem:
I made $60k a few months ago and now I’m using my credit card to cover expenses until my next launch — I don’t know how to make this consistent!
Or the “6-figure hamster wheel” problem:
I bring in more clients to make more money and do more work to bring in more clients to make more money and… *yawn* I’m actually kind of tired, but I can’t stop or I won’t make more money and keep my business growing. HELP – how do I get off this thing!?
Or the “trading time for dollars” problem:
If I want to make MORE money I have to work MORE hours. But I’m already making as much money as possible because I’m literally working EVERY hour I have. Wait, is there an end to this, Belinda?!
OR, the “I’m too busy to look at the books” problem:
I’m so busy trying to keep up with my OVERWHELMING schedule that I don’t even have a moment to look at where all the money is going, let alone, create a plan to scale even further. I’m only one person!
