What’s your CEO salary?

by Belinda Rosenblum

Did you just roll your eyes at that subject line?

(Like what salary, am I right…?)

As a business owner, sometimes it feels like you are sort of just stuck paying yourself whatever scraps you can with whatever’s left over.

The good ol’ feast or famine.

[We’ll be talking about exactly this next week — and how you can bust through your current income ceiling — in our new Profit Playbook Challenge – click here for access.]

Maybe your business picked up momentum faster than you could plan for and you haven’t had time to even think about a salary for yourself yet. (This is especially true for all my 1:1 online service providers out there.)

If that’s where you are, you’re definitely not alone.

Can I talk numbers with you for a minute? When was the last time you took a look at what your hourly rate actually is?

Here’s some quick math:

If you paid yourself $2,000 last month, and worked 60 hours/week, that’s only $8.33 per hour (and we haven’t even set aside money for taxes yet).

That’s way lower than minimum wage. Here’s a tissue while you let that sink in.

I’m here to tell you that your expertise AND the impact you are creating is worth.so.much.more than that.

Have you noticed this trend?

by Belinda Rosenblum

Here it is (and no, it’s not AI-related).

The trend is called NOT scaling.

I see it every day in the tired eyes of the successful business owners that pop up on my feed or slide into my dm’s.

I also see it in all of the YES’s that should have been NO’s when talking to clients who are looking for a way out of trading their hours for dollars, but are stuck without any other offers to make it better.

And you know what? Even the most successful entrepreneurs struggle with that. (Yup, even me!)

On that note – I’ve been working on tallying up the top 3 struggles I see entrepreneurs and small business owners making when they are trying to scale their business.

1. They’re thinking too small.

These are the business owners who are pretty successful already and they know they still want to scale, but they aren’t sure what the next step is.

Sometimes this looks like being scared to rock the already somewhat successful boat with adjusting their offers and they end up leaving a whole lot of money on the table.

They are even afraid to set really big goals because either they don’t want to be disappointed or they don’t want to feel so much pressure, as if setting a goal would take the fun out of the business and not making the goal could be soul-crushing.

2. They’re overworked and exhausted.

You might really need to hear this

by Belinda Rosenblum

It’s that transitional time of the year when kids are back to school, pumpkin spiced lattes are out, and if you’re like a lot of business owners I know, you’re looking ahead to an upcoming launch, the 4th quarter and even (gasp!) to your 2024 goals.

If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed with how far you have to go, or underwhelmed with your business progress this year, I’m dropping in with something you might really need to hear. Call it a little dose of Tuesday inspo.

Here goes…

It is 100% in your power to not only reach your business goals but far surpass them. And it starts with believing that everything you want is entirely possible and within your reach.

I’m not talking about BS, fluff-filled “I know I can do it” lip service, but actually believing, seeing, and being the success you desire

I feel so strongly about this that I made a quick little video about it. You can check it out here.

Yes, it’s going to take some planning and some strategic action-taking. Maybe even learning some new skills. And likely a few leaps of faith.

But it’s going to happen — as long as you are committed to it happening and believe with certainty that your success is inevitable. (You can, as a start, lean on my belief in you!)

Too many smart female business owners just like you and me have stopped setting goals, mainly because they’re afraid it’ll take the fun out of the impact they are making or they just don’t want to be disappointed if they don’t achieve them (again).

But then they are getting small results and thinking that is all there is.
